Universität Hamburg seeks to make its website, https://jop.blogs.uni-hamburg.de/, fully accessible to people with disabilities. This process is based on the Hamburg act on equal treatment for disabled persons (Hamburgisches Gesetz zur Gleichstellung behinderter Menschen, HmbGGbM) and the ordinance on barrier-free information technology (Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung, BITV 2.0).
Status of compatibility with the requirements
The accessibility requirements result from paragraph 1 HmbBITVO in conjunction with paragraphs 3(1) to (4) and paragraph 4 of the Federal BITV, which was issued on the basis of paragraph 11 HmbBGG.
The verification of compliance with the requirements is based on a self-assesment/test conducted on 9.9.2021 by the Webmaster of the JOP Blog.
Based on this self-assesment/test, the website is partially to incompitable with the previously mentioned requirements due to the following incompatibilities and exception.
The requirements are to be taken into account within the framework of a technical revision of the website.

Arbitration procedure
The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is establishing an ombudsperson’s office. The ombudsperson will receive information and complaints about existing barriers, play the role of an independent arbitration body, and work with those affected to develop accessibility solutions.
